Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Rain and falling trees

Someone said when you pray for rain, be prepared to deal with the mud, and in the taman, it's more than overflowing water from the ponds and mud, but also falling branches and trees.
Many trees in the taman are matured trees.  The beautiful Casuarina trees are among them, and it's very sad to see one down this morning.  It looked like the old branches came down and it was inevitable that the tree had to be chopped down.  It's just fortunate that at this point, this tree is not the one that is presently host to a raptor's nest.

A  smaller tree was also seen down in the inner part of the taman.

Even a bare tree was not spared.

And then there were two more.

And three more in another part of the taman.
