Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Blue-throateds no more

These will probably be the last set of images of the Blue-throated Bee-eaters for the year as these birds have flown away from Malaysia, perhaps further south to Sumatra following their breeding season here.  It's no wonder that some of them were seen in moulting form.  
     Also, now that the Blue-tailed Bee-eaters are here, this confirms the departure of the Blue-throateds.  Till now, it's a mystery why one set of migratory birds of the same species is replaced by a different set of the same species.




These look like a moulting sub-adult.
