Meanwhile, there was the sharp call of the Banded Woodpecker which I almost mistook for another, which I'm pretty desperate to get, for months already, but still so so elusive.
Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Another Woodpecker morning
It's always a joy to come across the Woodpeckers, and when the Grey-capped Woodpecker flew right into view, there was a frenzied attempt to get its images against morning backlight. Fortunately, this one moved constantly and came into the light as if on cue.
