Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Another Woodpecker morning

It's always a joy to come across the Woodpeckers, and when the Grey-capped Woodpecker flew right into view, there was a frenzied attempt to get its images against morning backlight.  Fortunately, this one moved constantly and came into the light as if on cue.

Meanwhile, there was the sharp call of the Banded Woodpecker which I almost mistook for another, which I'm pretty desperate to get, for months already, but still so so elusive.
