Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Migrant stragglers

It's already spring up north and soon it'll be summer in less than a couple of months' time.  Yet these smaller birds are still around here; will they be flying back soon, or have they decided to stay back in this warmer land?!

There are still more than one Asian Brown Flycatcher in the taman.  This one was seen preening inside the taman.

Meanwhile this one was spotted in a different location.

The Brown Shrike is also around but no change in plumage is seen yet.  Normally the Shrikes will assume breeding plumage when they leave although the juvies that arrived earlier would of course return home as adults.

The other active bird also still around is the Artic Warbler.
