Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Tracking the young Kites

I have been trying to track the two young Brahminy Kites since these birds fledged.  Over the last weeks, they could be seen to be flying above the taman but gradually have been seen less and less, probably now capable of venturing further away for hunting purpose.  The most memorable sighting was when a parent was seen with a catch and the two birds were seen flying after the parent for the catch, causing quite a ruckus as they flew high and low over the taman!
The following images have been compiled as I came across them over the weeks.

This one came down to ground and attempted to drink from the pond but was chased off by the bigger Hadada Ibis!
