Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

And so the rest did hit the ground as I had expected, the only saving grace was that these trees were not cut down to stump and when the one with the big nest fell, the nest was empty.

Before

After

However these little squirrels were in one of the trees but fortunately survived (was happy to have this pic forwarded to me, as I regretted that I was not around to witness the cutting of these trees).

It was heartening to see that the Brahminy Kite has lost no time to rebuild, and here's praying successful nesting to the pair as it looked like there's some urgency here.
