Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Migrant raptor

I least expected to encounter this Oriental Honey-buzzard as I headed home feeling rather disappointed with the dismal sighting of birdlife.  Then this one just flew right in front of me but landed up high, not at all ideal for desirable shots.  Nevertheless it did stay around, flying from one tree to the other.  The windy weather and backlighting did not help at all.

Migrant 19/2018

It was rather strange when it landed here and looked like it was watching out for something.

Suddenly it flew down to the adjacent apartment area, where I lived, so off I rushed back hoping to discover its whereabout, but unfortunately no such luck.  Strange indeed that it flew down as if spotting a prey on the ground!
