Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Woodshrike wave

The Large Woodshrike is not exactly an attractive bird to photograph because of its rather drab greyish-brown plumage, but still, its beauty is not to be ignored.

Yet, if these birds come flying in a flock, one simply has to try and capture some images despite the terribly unfavourable lighting, and for record purpose.  These birds, only males captured in images, were seen going after flying insects as well as scouring branches.
