It was not easy for me to catch the White-breasted Waterhen feeding, other than by the pond side for fish and others. On this occasion it was rather uncommon to see it scrapping the side of a pod of fruits, fruits that had been eaten already by other birds.
Waterhens are known to feed on insects, some molluscs, small fish and aquatic invertebrates, also seeds, roots and shoots of some plants.
