Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Oriole morning

It was truly a morning of Black-naped Orioles.  First this immature was playing by itself and when it flew off and up to a neighbouring tree, I decided to follow.
The Oriole is a gorgeous bird to photograph because of its striking yellow and the immature is no less stunning.  It's not so sought after simply because it's a common resident.

And I was pleasantly surprised to discover two other immatures at the tree.  The Oriole population in the taman is indeed healthy.

And who would not fall in love with this charming scene!
