Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Fading beauty of Sunbird

One do come across ageing birds in the taman, and this Brown-throated Sunbird was no different.  It's like I've come across a beauty which has been through more glorious days, now living with fading colours but nevertheless still sharp, as it spied me immediately from about 50 metres away, still as hyperactive as ever, living up to its name as a Sunbird, which unfortunately made me fail to capture sharper images.
