Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The other beauties

One does tend to overlook the other beauties in the taman in the fervent search for the feathered ones.  Whether it's a living or fallen beauty, it's truly nature's greater handicraft.

Part of a dry palm leaf, revealing nature's weaving wonder.

Didn't know that this unruly cluster actually comprised wild orchids until it flowered.

A similar wild orchid but of a different single plant.

The favourite haunt of Sunbirds, the flowers in various stages of bud, bloom and after-bloom.
