Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Spotting the Red-eyed again

The Red-eyed Bulbul is not commonly seen in the taman, and it's unusual because it does go for the same fig fruits as the Yellow-vented Bulbul, and the fig trees in the taman do fruit regularly.  It goes for insects too which are aplenty here too.

When I spotted the Red-eyed again, far from any fruiting tree, it had such a restless stance, looking around constantly as if for something.  Unfortunately it flew off before I had any clue.
