Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A matter of opinion

The Asian Glossy Starling is definitely not a favourite subject of photography for birders, nevertheless, I personally find its appearances striking as it undergoes different stages of development.
The juveniles stand out as they change in colours and in their streaky underbody.  The adults are almost metallic dark green.  The red eyes could be mesmerising.
The taman is an excellent place to observe this species as they could be around in flocks with the presence of numerous feeding trees here.  These trees fruit at different times so there is almost always a fruiting tree at any time of the year.  It is almost an annoyance when flocks descend on a feeding tree and practically wipe off fruits in no time.  They also scare off other lone feeding birds with their noisy presence.
