Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Symbolism that shouldn't be

Another of my favourite moment is watching this Spotted Dove preen.  This particular Dove is one of the biggest in the taman.  It is fortunate that Doves are generally sensitive, and will fly off if they sense any human presence.  Nevertheless they are still a favourite of poachers because of the demand, i.e. doves are captured, sold to be released as a symbolic gesture of peace, ironical and farcical!
