Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Hello, big fella

It has been a pretty long time since I saw this Crested Serpent-eagle perch for long in this taman so I was rather excited when I saw it, for the first time on the other side of the taman.
I saw it and it saw me so its eyes followed me as I circled below trying to get sharper images in the unfavourable morning light.
I miss those days when this bird was frequently seen in the taman and would come down to eye level on a branch.  It had even hopped down to the pond looking for prey.  Whatever the reason it is that it is less sighted in the taman, to see it again certainly gave me a high this morning!
