Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Only sub-adult Bee-eaters

It looked like the Blue-throated Bee-eaters I've encountered so far were sub-adults compared to the other blue-tailed bee-eaters.  I almost missed this set of, I guessed, siblings because of the backlighting.

This kind of synchronised behaviour is common among these birds.

Days later I came across another set of sub-adults.
