Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Not so lacklustre Flycatcher

The Asian Brown Flycatcher does come across as a cute cannonball of a bird if observed from a certain angle.  Many tend to take it for granted because of its regular arrival and ubiquitous presence.

This bird was seen to fly in moments later, onto a worm prey.  It's truly a rare occasion for me to watch the ABF hunting and with catch, simply because it tends to stay to mid canopy or higher.

And the morning was good to it because it got on to another insect catch soon after.

A common migrant, this one is normally passed over for its less attractive plumage.
