Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Near Goshawk encounter

I had literally walked beneath this Crested Goshawk which must have been feeding on its squirrel prey which looked half-consumed.  It flew out suddenly, just metres above me clutching its prey and landed, also metres above but must have been spooked by my aiming at it because it took off again.

And there was obviously no sharing as this female was calling out, in vain, at a nearby tree.
