Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Babbler courtship

I could hear the Pin-striped Tit Babbler calling away and was almost transfixed when I finally managed to spot it, puzzled at its unusual behaviour, at least for then.  And then only did it dawn on me what it was doing, a courtship dance which eventually attracted one to fly to it!

It went on repeatedly, rhythmically raising and lowering its head, and calling.

And finally one flew in below it, and both flew off together.
