Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A Starling distraction

It's always easy to dismiss the Asian Glossy Starling because of their common and huge presence but the juvenile does encourage a second look.  This one made a pretty picture as it tackled the bright red berry-like fruit despite its 'haunting' appearance.  It was also a welcome distraction as I trawled the taman for more migrant sightings.
