It was so close that I was able to aim at the cute feature under its beak that made it look like it harbours a pretty mouth there.
Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Not just a Shrike beak
It's the season when I am always delighted to have repeated encounters with any migrant birds. This Tiger Shrike, a first winter one, looked like it's newly arrived as it was still not skittish. It allowed me to creep real close to it and simply stood almost literally under it, as perhaps it was preoccupied with an adjacent call that it didn't notice me.
It was so close that I was able to aim at the cute feature under its beak that made it look like it harbours a pretty mouth there.
