Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The Minivets are here

The Ashy Minivets have now joined the migrants that have been sighted in the taman.  This common winter visitor though seen most in open forests is also regular to low density urban areas.
Not exactly a stunning bird, the Minivet neverthless stood out for its slim and slender profile, exuding elegance.  It however has a cute Malay name, Matahari Kelabu.  Some have said that these birds could easily be mistaken for the pied trillers especially if viewed in the upper canopy where these Minivets tend to keep to although the Minivets do have longer tails.  In fact these couple of birds came in a bird wave with the pied trillers.
It's simply lucky that birds do fly down and forage low in the taman, thus ideal for photography.

This one looks like a male with a more whitish forehead compared to the female that has a greyish one.

This one was busy feeding not the least bothered with the presence of a couple of birders.

Another look at this lovely bird.

Looked like this time this one got a slimy catch.

By comparison, this was a Pied Triller sighted in the bird wave.
