Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The gorgeous Amur

Another much awaited flycatcher arrived too, the Amur Paradise Flycatcher.  These birds are female and first winter or sub-adults, and could be from eastern China, Japan or even south-eastern Russia.  They would have migrated through Thailand to winter in Malaysia.  A couple may stay on in the bukit but most would move on to other parts of the country before they return home.
The unmistakable calls had me waiting patiently for it to appear and true enough it did, to allow some close-up shots.
Then as usual it moved on, flying to upper canopy and moving about up there with incessant speedy movements.

It still allowed some shots but belly-poses were what I had to contend with.

There was another unexpected final encounter which unfortunately didn't allow more ideal shots despite the fact that there was more than one bird this time.

However, it did afford me a different pose.
