Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

The erstwhile Starling

I am still hoping for that rare sighting among the Daurian or Purple-backed Starlings that are now more and more regularly seen in the taman.
With these present sightings, I'm also looking forward to the spectacle of flocks whirling in the air, as captured last year, my posting at  http://rimbakiara.blogspot.com/2017/11/starlings-and-more-starlings.html.

It does take some effort to filter out these Daurians from the common local starlings as these birds tend to fly in and forage together, albeit momentarily, and then the Daurians will break away and fly off.

Seen from the right angle this is truly one gorgeous looking bird.
