Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Munia mania

It's the season again although I normally would not venture too far down to the river to shoot the Scaly-breasted Munias because they are simply easy to get without having to do so.  But this time was different as it's also time to stalk the river for the elusive kingfisher, and I had to be satisfied with only the Munias while waiting.

A perfect camouflage for these sensitive birds.

Meanwhile the naive juvenile sitting across the river to the adults didn't show any sign of sensitivity, yet, as they laze openly.
