Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Hard to dismiss this common one

It looks like it's the time of the year when flocks of Asian Glossy Starlings throng the taman.  These are the most common Starlings and can be found all year long but there are certain times when they are seen in flocks.  One cannot miss their presence because these birds are pretty noisy when they gather, even when they are feeding.

A portrait of an adult and juvenile.

Another family gathering.

This Starling is easily identified by its red-eyes.

These birds also love to perch in flocks up high, and can be heard all the way down.  This juvenile is seen shrieking its head off.
