Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Pair for life

It's parents' day out.  It's not easy to come across birds in pairs, and if they do, they do not stay together long enough for a good photo shoot.  I learn to grab my opportunity whenever I spot a pair, does not matter if it's a long range shoot.
Furthermore, it's extremely difficult to tell between the male and female in common birds.  The difference is minimal.  It may be just a slight difference in the crown, in size or colour.
Most of these birds are monogamous, i.e. they pair for life.  Yes, we human beings do have more than a thing to learn from our feathered friends!
