Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Now you see them now you don't

These flocks of Asian Glossy Starlings are certainly voracious eaters.  The tree that was bursting with fruits is now practically bald.  No doubt there were the other birds which came to feast but the Starlings did park themselves by the tree!
     And the taman is now strangely quiet without the cacophony of cries of these birds which seemed to have disappeared too.
