Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Bee-eaters galore

It was certainly an afternoon-ful of Blue-throated Bee-eaters.  I thought these birds would have left by now perhaps heading further south, but the number seen made me think they might still be around for a while.  There was continuous flight after insects that the place was almost festive with their flappings, cries and knocking of insects on their perches before they swallowed the insects whole.
