Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Golden balls of bloom

It is difficult to walk past the Golden Penda tree without stopping to admire its stunning flowers, and the trees in the taman are presently showing off their blooms.

And these flowers seemed to attract the Mynas in particular, as these Javan Mynas displayed.  The noisy flock also managed to chase away all the other birds especially the Sunbirds, with its continuous cackling.
