Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Fruit carnival!

When the birds feast on the fruits, I feast my eyes on them!  An excellent occasion to watch different birds feeding at the same time is when the tree fruits, it's like a food fest.
Even the Coppersmith Barbet had to take a break after its feasting, fruit stains still visible on its bill!

The Lineated Barbet is always a welcome sight being a beautiful bird, (so it shall have a column next devoted to its presence!).

When the Asian Glossy Starlings arrive, it's always in a flock and one can be sure the fruits will last a few more days only.

Nowadays the park seem to be filled with the sub-adult Black-naped Orioles - looks like some of the chicks are growing up.
