Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A repeat Bulbul visitor

The first time I saw this Red-Whiskered Bulbul was in November of last year, and I thought that was it since I had not seen it since.  This time, it seemed to fly in and out quickly because I simply could not spot it any more after the photo ops it gave me.
There are many birds that are one-off visitors to the taman.  It is hoped then that this bird will stay on, or visit frequently, to add to the diversity of birds here, which had already numbered more than 60 species, amazing for an urban park!
