Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Funny-faced Barbet

It looked like any other bird perching, quite calmly, and then it suddenly started its funny faces!  It's always a pleasure to encounter the Lineated Barber, and when it surprised like this, it made one's morning!  The unusual thing is that whilst it was at this, not a single sound is heard from it.
