Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A four-legged resident

Looking like a 'Lord of the Ring', this Water Monitor Lizard stood almost majestic in the drain.  However this 'lord' immediately withdrew into its domain when it saw that I had spotted it!

Moments later, a smaller one was seen to crawl about, then into the hole.

Meanwhile, another one was spotted having a swim close by.
This taman can really support varied wildlife.  Monitor Lizards are mainly carnivorous, preying on fish, frogs, smaller reptiles and even birds.
