Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A repeat visitor

It was a great feeling when I saw this Banded Bay Cuckoo again, unmistakably the same one I saw before as identified by its ruffled neck.
This time, it had gone for a flower which is not its usual diet of moths, perhaps an alternative in the absence of its normal food.

And then it started what is considered a birder's dream, preening time, and was at it for so long that I had to give up shooting!  Am ever so grateful for this opportunity!
