Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Recollection of the Fowl

Once upon a time this Red Jungle Fowl could roam freely in the taman, and no one would even give it a second look.  Perhaps it is thought that it was just another domestic fowl.  Today, it would be quite hazardous for it to roam around because of the possibility of being poached.
I count myself very lucky indeed to have witnessed the different stages of development of this Jungle Fowl over the years.  Generally this Fowl is very shy compared to the domestic fowl and will run when it senses human presence.  Good for it, I say!

The adult male is truly beautiful.  This male has yet to grow its gorgeous long back feathers.

It's always a thrilling moment when there is eye contact!
