Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Vain male of an Iora

It's the male's world!  This little female Common Iora must have thought that she had her space, not disturbing anyone, preening alone, until the male decided to fly in, suddenly and shrieking, shooed off the female and decided to claim the entire tree to himself, and one would think that the park has enough trees to accommodate all! Then it started to preen for a good couple of minutes, providing me with excellent photo opps.
My conclusion?  Birds do bully after all!

Couldn't stop taking shots of the male, perhaps, because it looked so comical as it preened.
