Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

A morningful of LB

Can't seem to get enough of this Lineated Barbet and a pair offered ample photo opportunities at a fruiting tree this morning.  However, it is pretty difficult to establish which is male and female - and whilst awaiting confirmation, I can only hazard a guess.
It is simply wonderful that this bird is seen more often here now.  The Lineated Barbet generally used to be found in the northern part of the country.
I believe the following images are that of the female.

The following images could be those of the male.
The fruiting tree certainly provides an excellent platform for these images.

Always a thrill when one has an image of a bird returning looks.

Clearer and cleaner images of the male.
