Taman Rimba Kiara is a little green gem located in a corner of the TTDI residential area. The above flowering tree, the firmiana malayana or mata lembu, flashes in testimony to man's care-less-ness - it's one of only two trees in the park that had flowered, since then the tree had been chopped down.

Eyes on Munias

I do love to come across the Scaly-breasted Munia, gorgeous bird although the juvenile is rather plain.  These birds will fly in, feed ravenously on the grass seeds and you will not see them again until the next feed when the wild grasses weigh heavy again.
It's certainly not easy to get good images of these birds as they swing naturally and unendingly on the thin grass, hopping too incessantly from grass to grass and then come the wind, and it truly tests one's determination to get it right!
